This is the class blog for Wendy Sumner-Winter's 1020 Composition and Analysis classes at the University of Memphis.
The purpose of the blog is to demonstrate the global nature of education and argument and allow students to embrace the idea of entering into a global conversation.
The governing theme of this class will be "Think Globally, Act Locally." To that end, we will be exploring issues that face the world in the context of our own city.
We invite readers to participate in the discussion with us. Let us learn from you, let us teach you.

i beleive that this quote hold a lot of truth. Schools did not fail society, society failed schools. If society aka more parents actually gave a shit every now and then, things actually might change. The change needs to be made in the students, which are directly linked to the parents/society. so if society would step up, so would the children.
